Introducing Snake Classic™ for Android

After months of development, huge public demand, iterating, prototyping and then developing again, we are very excited to introduce your favorite Snake Classic™ on Android! When we first launched Snake Classic™ for iOS in 2010, it started out as a side project. We missed having the legendary Snake game on our new smartphones, so figured why not build it ourselves. Now a little over 3 years later, and more than 5 million users old, we are opening it up to the rest of the smartphone world, and hope to see similar success on the Google platform. Snake Classic™ for Android is exactly like the iOS version - same features, design, simplicity, etc. everything that has made the iOS version so popular.

version 2.1

hey you all,

version 2.1 of Snake Classic is now live on the App Store. this version brings:

• improvements to controls. the arrows have been brought closer and we have tried to make them as responsive as possible. the feedback from our testers has been extremely positive, saying that they "never" miss a button now. 
• push notifications. now you will be notified each time there is a new global high score, reminding you to open the app and try beating it. 
• several other bug fixes, including one that caused the snake to lag on certain devices.

as always, please keep your reviews coming. that is the only way for us to identify issues and fix them so you can have a perfect snake experience.

long time no see

hi everyone,

hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. we all know Snake Classic did :)

we started going up in the overall US ranks the day before Thanksgiving and never looked back. the game was in the Top 10 for about 8 days peaking at number 3! and we have to thank you, the fans, the users for your tremendous support and good wishes!

being so visible in the App Store is great, aside from just the sheer volume downloads (will share with you at some point in the future). the game has received some great feedback from you all. we truly appreciate all the reviews, both positive and negative.

about those negative ones: while you were complaining about the controls and lagging, we were already working on a new version that will take care of these issues. and in fact, that version is almost done and we plan to submit it to the App Store today. yes, today!

more on this new version soon.. in the mean time, thank you all again and happy snaking!

version 2.0

get excited! the biggest upgrade of Snake Classic is out and live on the App Store. there are so many new features in this version, and we are sure you will love all of them.

• extreme mode: a new game mode in which you play all the fields for 45 seconds each. get the most apples as possible within the 45 seconds on each field until you have completed all the fields. time trial :)
• fields: now play 4 different fields to test your snaking skills! 
• wallpapers: customize Snake Classic the way you like with one of  4 wallpapers!

you get all of these features ready to use in the premium version of the game called Snake Classic Unlocked, a separate app available on the App Store for $0.99. 

BUT.. we know you don't like paying for apps. so, there is another way to unlock all these features in the regular free Snake Classic app. just download our partner apps (that are free) and redeem the credits you earn to unlock these features. click on "unlock" to in the main menu of the app to learn more.

and that is not all. there are a bunch of bug fixes and a help section to assist you with all of this!

version 1.1

as promised, we are submitting the next version of Snake Classic in a few hours. this is the complete version of the game and we are really excited for you to check it out!

New features

• Global and Friends scoreboard: Now view all your Facebook friends' scores as well as scores of all players playing the game across the world!
• Share your score: Share your score with your friends through Facebook and Twitter!

5000 users and counting..

as we expected, the first 72 hours have been very exciting. we have now crossed 5,000 downloads! thank you all for your support and playing the game. the response has been positive, and we can't wait for everyone to see what's in store in future updates.

this version was meant to be more of a trial run and the primary purpose was to ensure we have a solid technical foundation. and we have def achieved that! we have not heard of a single crash or technical problem. Apple approved the app in a total of 7 business days without any concerns.

all in all.. very satisfied with the first release and really excited about the future!
